Have your own laptop computer, but no Internet connection? Problem solved...
Justice Public Library has free Wi-Fi!
To connect to the Internet from your laptop: Open your wireless network Click on Justice01 or Justice02 Then click Connect (Please note: This is not a secured connection.)
Did you know you can access your Justice Public Library Card account online?
Once you sign in you will be able to see your checked out items and due dates, renew items (visual material is not renewable), and place holds on material from Justice Public Library or any other library listed in our Online Catalog. You can also pay your fines online using your Visa, MasterCard, or Discover credit card! (If you wish to pay the fines at the library, cash and checks are accepted.)
To create your online account:
Click on My Account (on the right side of the page) Fill in your name. Fill in your library card barcode (no spaces). Then type in a 4-digit PIN number.* Click Submit and you will be taken to your account.
*When you create your account the PIN you type in will be saved. Each time you access your account after that, you will need to type in the same PIN number, so remember it or write it down. (If you do forget your PIN, we can reset it for you at the library.)
Justice Public Library now has Research Pro, a dynamic search engine of about 30 databases (and still growing). With Research Pro one search will give you results from a variety of databases. You can customize your search to retrieve full text articles, images, encyclopedia articles, maps, book reviews and more! Justice Public Library patrons can access Research Pro from any computer that has Internet access by using the link below. You will need to enter your name, your library card number (the number directly beneath the barcode) and your PIN. (If you do not have a PIN, you will be asked to create one, which you will use from then on.) Give it a try: Research Pro
Looking for a magazine or newspaper article? Try EBSCOhost! Looking for a new author to try? Try NoveList! EBSCOhost is an online database of print articles. You can search for articles using keywords, subjects, publications and more. NoveList is a fiction database that provides reviews, searches, and more. You can find books by genre, search for your favorite authors, find series information (in order!), search for similar books to your favorites and even search for a book by describing the plot! To access NoveList or EBSCOhost, go to EBSCO Publishing and log in. (Stop in or call the library for the login info.) Then click the link for NoveList or NoveList K-8 (children's books), or EBSCOhost to find articles.
Looking for a book or other item and can't find it in our library system? You can search libraries all over the country using OCLC FirstSearch! Go to OCLC FirstSearch and log in using the authorization number and password located below the expiration date on your Justice Public Library card. Once you log in, you need to select a database. WorldCat will have everything that most people will ever need to look for, so start with that. Then type in a title, author, etc., and click Search. (You'll be able to limit your search to narrow the results on the next page or by clicking Advanced Search.) If you find the item you were searching for, Justice Public Library cardholders may request it through our library. Call or stop in at the library to place your request. (Please see our Interlibrary Loan Policy for details on timing, renewals, fees, etc. Most in-state loans are free.)
